So I've finally started a Blogspot. I'm going to be posting my travel stories, etc. there from now on, but may still occasionally use LJ for the more private ranty stuff. XD

I thought I couldn't go to the big Halloween Dance Party on Saturday due to the Miami Delegation coming. However, it turns out we plan to bring the Miami guy to the party, so I can go after all. XD But thinking I couldn't go, I didn't prepare any costume!

So, anyone got any suggestions for something different/unique that can be done in 2 days? XD Nakagawa-san suggested I go as a ninja, so I can make use of the katana umbrella I bought earlier in the year. ^^; It is pretty simple but not unique...I'm going to use it as my backup if I can't think of anything else.

October has been an awesome month thus far, for more reasons than I can summarise. Let's hope it continues.

What was the best movie of the year so far? Does it have the potential to become a classic?

Without a doubt, Inception.

Christopher Nolan is brilliant; one of his earlier movies, Memento is an all-time favourite of mine and now he's outdone himself again. And this time on a subject matter close to my heart: dreams. Loved the concept and although I think they underused the potential of the world-building, it was a very intelligent film with a fine balance of effects.

If you haven't seen this movie already, do yourself a favour and watch it! :)

And yes, I think it has potential to become a classic, in a similar fashion The Matrix sort of became one.

When words fail
2 But as I stood there in silence—
not even speaking of good things—
the turmoil within me grew worse.
3 The more I thought about it,
the hotter I got,
igniting a fire of words:
4 “Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be.
Remind me that my days are numbered—
how fleeting my life is.
5 You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand.
My entire lifetime is just a moment to you;
at best, each of us is but a breath.”

Psalm 39

There's so much I'm burning to express, but unable to find the words, the form, the medium to manifest it into this world.
And until I can, I really have...nothing left to say.

Haha, I overslept by around an hour this morning. xD My alarm is normally set for 8:05am on work days. This morning, I woke briefly at 7:45am, but went back to sleep as I had another 20mins. I dreamt about trains and heroes of justice (who were people I know in real life) rushing about to save mankind. Partway through the dream, after we had completed the first showdown and were riding the train to rush to our next destination in crisis, I remembered thinking vaguely to myself, "this dream is stretching kinda long for 20mins...." In which I proceeded to try and wake myself up. Eventually, I managed to get my eyes open, and immediately reached for my clock, with a bad feeling about the time....
It was 8:50am! (I start work at 9am) XD I had no recollection of even hearing my alarm; I must have automatically switched it off and slipped back into a deep sleep. In my semi-disorientated state, I actually thought about trying to make it, and dashed to the bathroom to wash up, but as the cold water shocked me awake I realised there was no way. XD Finally accepting my defeat, I returned to the tatami room and picked up my phone to call my supervisor.
Nakagawa-san answered with a puzzled "hn?", so soft I wasn't sure anyone had picked up or not.
Me: Moshi moshi? (Hello?)
Nakagawa-san: Ohayou~ (Good morning~)
Me: I'm really sorry, but I kinda overslept this morning, so would I be able to take 1 hour of leave? I will be in at 10am. Sorry. orz
Nakagawa-san: Got it~

I lay on the floor for a while and laughed at myself. This is the second time I've ever done this since working here; both days were rainy, dark mornings which I am sure attributed to it.
Thank God for understanding, easy-going colleagues, and a supervisor who just smiles amusedly at this sort of thing <3 I will endeavour to make sure there won't be a third time though! I will set two alarms for tomorrow!

Now it's almost home time~ Will make a nice warm nutritious soup tonight and eat it with some leftover fish while watching Tensai Terebi-kun (a kids evening show that is oddly entertaining XD). Then shower, Bible reading (+journalling?), Japanese study and finish off maybe with a bit of Kara no Kyoukai reading if it's not too late already~ Or, if I'm too tired, some brainless Japanese television. My crate of cranberry juice should arrive tonight too, hopefully! ^^

So my supervisor, Nakagawa-san, told me this over lunch just now.

Apparently one of the staff in the City Sports Division called her saying he would like to thank me for the translation work I did for them by having a nomikai (drinking party) with me.
She replied that I didn't like drinking very much.
So the guy was like, oh so what can we do to show our thanks then?
My supervisor replied "hmmm well, lately she's been really into Evangelion."

XDD I can't believe she actually told him that! I thought she was joking at first, but then I realised she had seriously said it. XD

My supervisor is so awesome. ^___^

Yours truly is realising more and more that the reason why the world is so intensely beautiful is because there's an equally, if not deeper, layer of pain behind it all. The perpetual yearning to be released from this world, that every living thing inherently carries, is both beautiful and so incomprehensibly sad at the same time.

"Happy is the person who finds wisdom and gain understanding. For the profit of wisdom is better than silver, and her wages better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. She offers you life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left. She will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying. Wisdom is the tree of life to those who embrace her, happy are those who hold her tightly." (3:13-18)

I won't ever let her go.

"Don't turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her and she will guard you." (4:6)

I do love her, more than I can put into words.

"I love all who love me. Those who search for me will surely find me. Unending riches, honor, wealth, and justice are mine to distribute." (8:17-18)

Your love alone is more than I could ever ask for.
